Founded in 1869, the Williamson Magor Group pioneered India's tea industry. Thereafter, although Eveready Products were marketed in India from 1905, Eveready Industries India was incorporated in 1934, and it soon became the leader in dry cell batteries segment. Previously the company was a subsidiary of Union Carbide Corporation, US. It was acquired by B. M. Khaitan and the Williamson Magor group of companies in 1993. Eveready continues to be the trusted pan-India brand for portable energy and lighting solutions.
