Founded in 1995 by Anita Dongre, Meena Sehra and Mukesh Sawlani,(formerly known as And Design India Limited) is one of India's leading fashion houses today. A well-recognised, well-respected and well-loved name. The company owns and operates three brands with three extremely distinct identities. AND with its line of chic, contemporary western-wear for women, Global Desi – a young, free-spirited, vibrant line of boho-chic ensembles and the Anita Dongre label offering breathtaking, curated looks in bridal, couture, pret, menswear and handcrafted jadau jewellery (Pinkcity).

Today, HOAD has a widespread reach that extends not just across the country, but beyond the borders as well. Within India, the network includes well above 600 points of sale with more than 165 exclusive brand stores and over 450 multi-brand large format stores in 65 cities. Globally, HOAD marked its presence in Mauritius with the launch of its first international Global Desi store in 2013, followed by the grand opening of a flagship store of all 3 brands in November 2014.

2013 was a momentous year for HOAD. Not only did the company establish its international presence, but it also became the first fashion house in India to be invested in by General Atlantic, a leading global growth investment firm. HOAD's Board of Directors is now strengthened by Sandeep Naik (Managing Director, Mumbai) and Shantanu Rastogi (Principal, Mumbai) along with Anita Dongre, Meena Sehra and Mukesh Sawlani.

Following the successes of 2013 were the landmark achievements of 2015. In March 2015, Milind Sarwate, Former Marico Group CFO, joined the board as an Independent Director. In April 2015, the company shifted its design headquarters to the serene, green hills of Rabale in Navi Mumbai. The new, ergonomically-designed building is a reflection of everything that the company stands for and believes in. Earth-friendly, animal-friendly, work-friendly - the special architecture of this green space uses air, water and sunlight in the most efficient and economical manner, creating a work environment that is completely in sync with the natural environment.

Shortly after this move, House of Anita Dongre Limited launched a beautiful new label, bringing to life a long-cherished dream. The industry witnessed the unveiling of Anita Dongre Grassroot – a brand that seeks to revive the heirloom craft traditions of India and fashion them into contemporary tales. With its motto of 'revive-empower-sustain', this is a tribute to the hands of history.
