Air sahara Air Sahara was established in the year 1991 and commenced its operations from 3 Dec 1993 as Sahara airlines. In the initial years, the focus was to cover north India and gradually it landed up covering India. Sahara Airlines renamed as Air Saharain the year 2000 although the registered name was still Sahara Airlines. It became international carrier in the year 2004 with its first International flight from Chennai to Colombo.
Air Sahara, now known as Jet Lite is a subsidiary airline of renowned brand Jet airways based in Delhi. Air Sahara offers scheduled services to all the major metropolitan cities and all key destinations of India. Air Sahara offers high quality services with latest technology and well trained staff. Air Sahara was earlier part of well renowned Sahara group and later it was acquired by Jet airways with a new name JetLite.
Jet airways declared about its first acquire attempt in January 2006, offering Us$ 500 million in cash. Most of the Airline market analyst was not very convinced with deal as per them the quoted price was a way too much for Air Sahara. The deal did not materialize for the price and other concerns. After that another attempt was made by offering more amounts and fortunately itwas asuccessful attempt. The takeover was officially completed on 20 April 2007 by paying Rs 400m crores by Jet airways.
Air Sahara / JetLite provide high class services to all its customers. The staff is well trained and extremely co-operative. JetLite is now preferred by many customers for its timely services, and economical prices. Jet Airways has its plans to Merge Jet connect And JetLite in later stages under its Low cost airlines.
