The remastered launch of Diablo 2 Resurrected Items a game covers such a wide spectrum it may go from looking like a simple re-release in 1 example to a borderline movie in a different. This of course could dictate the possible response from fans and the wider community -- especially when dealing with matches which are brought back from an era where displays were as hefty, thick, and non-HD as the baggy jeans and pants individuals were sporting at the moment.

Like an archaeological locate found at the dunes of an entry door garage, or simply a way to re-introduce a classic to a new audience, the concept of a remaster is never a bad thing in and of itself. In reality it's often cause for celebration. Case in point, Diablo II: Resurrected. That sees the Y2K hit from Blizzard North find its way to contemporary consoles and PC hardware later this year.

When rumours began to pop up that Blizzard were actively working on or tinkering with the notion of bringing the iconic action-RPG -- many started to wonder exactly what that would look like. Can the 2D sprite-based visuals of Diablo II be awarded the 4K makeover ala StarCraft: Remastered, or could it be of a built-from-the-ground-up remake with new visuals and perhaps reimagined articles too. Questions that arose on account of the game's pedigree.

Describing Diablo II as iconic isn't merely a random descriptor, it's a seminal release which not only helped define a genre but laid the groundwork for a future where loot, real time action, player progression, and things like assembles and weapons and character classes became ubiquitous as military shooters that focused on gruff soldiers with assault rifles. In reality you could probably trace Call of Duty's multi-player systems back to Diablo. Probably.

At BlizzCon last month, when we got our first glance at Diablo II: Resurrected, the surprise came not from the statement itself but in how the execution seemingly exceeded all expectations. Impressive, contemporary 3D visuals which remain true to the appearance and feel of the original. Visuals that sit on top of buy Diablo Immortal Gold these classic 2000-era pixels, presenting a radical visual makeover that preserves what makes Diablo II, nicely, D2.
