When we took a survey of PSO2 Meseta gamers on reddit, I would bet most have no clue what PSO2 is. WoW may not be the powerhouse it was years ago, but just having it on the front page of Twitch daily, would at least give it recognition among individuals people who have never and will never play it. Just like you mentioned, PSO2 never arrived. Reddit is mostly english-based and heavy on NA. OP is somewhat lost, I think. As I mentioned previously, I do not think PSO2 appears bad. Much to the contrary, the character design system and some of its own outfits of it really do hold up.

Nevertheless, it's kind of just like DQX. There is a set of hardcore fans that could absolutely leap at the chance to play with it in the west, but many others who just feel daunted by SE rather than bringing it within the first place. It is worse for PSO2 because Sega made many promises and had a site for the English model, and we've been strung along with empty promises for this long. You shouldn't care what this sub believes. PSO2 is. I am sure there'll be problems with licensing, censorship, and translations but Phantasy Star Online 2 is still excellent and worth playing.

The downside is the cash store. The upside of the b2p version is spent and more severe tone of these in-game products, and the lack of both p2w. We receive the b2p with a promise for no p2w they wait till they've sold all. Any firm that does this even once should be spurned eternally - I'm kinda at the stage where we should actually demand a preexisting track record of actually doing so buy Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta by a given firm before anyone thinks them does anything except mock them.
