  • If players opt out of the settlement are able to file  Madden 24 coins personal lawsuits in opposition to the league. They could be more inclined to file a lawsuit given the latest development in the O'Bannon.NCAA case, too as former college players are suing over the way in which their names are being used in video games.

In July In July,In July of this year,Ninth Circuit threw out an appeal brought by the maker of video games EA Sports. The decision dismissed the argument from EA that player-likeness was protected under the First Amendment and it will let the case proceed.

The Dryer plaintiffs are watching the case with great interest. They're also observing another lawsuit that was filed by thousands of ex-Madden NFL 24 participants over concussions.

"I think there's an apparent connection in the atmosphere at this point,"Dryer said of the two cases."The Madden NFL 24 is looking very capriciously and cavalierly at the issue of concussions.

"There's an innate belief[in"the Madden NFL 24]of'we want that,we're taking that.'There's an arrogance in there."

Dryer hopes that something can be worked out, that he as well as his fellow retired players could come to a settlement with Madden NFL 24 that will directly compensate them for the rights to use their image while granting them the rights to it.

"I do a lot of businesses based on my character as an actor and a producer,"Dryer said."My image is the basis of my business. It's my personal brand.Every person is a brand and everyone has the right to take their brand in a direction that they prefer.

"I am not able to steal another's model and use it to promote my own interests without contacting and paying that person. What's the reason it's okay for the league to seize our rights and  mut 24 coins for sale not pay us any money?"
